Cenedese Museum and Oratory of Saints Lorenzo e Marco dei Battuti
Vittorio Veneto (TV)

The Cenedese Museum is housed in the ancient Palazzo della Comunità di Serravalle, built between 1462 and 1476 by the Podestà Gabriele and Domenico Venier on an earlier building that probably dates back to the 14th century.
The Museum, inaugurated on 2 November 1938, was so named by its founder, engineer Francesco Troyer, because it was intended to collect and enhance the archaeological, historical and artistic memories of the ancient ‘Cenedese’ territory, between the Piave and Livenza rivers, from the Belluna Valley to the Adriatic Sea, corresponding to the ancient Diocese of Ceneda, later Vittorio Veneto.
The façade and loggia of the palace are decorated with lively frescoes, while in the Museum rooms one can observe various works such as the Madonna and Child by Jacopo Sansovino, works by Pietro Pajetta or by the Victorian sculptor Pasquale Alessio Giusti known as Guido.
The Oratory of the Battuti di Serravalle, built by the Confraternity of the Battuti, is decorated with a very impressive cycle of frescoes painted during the first half of the 15th century by various artists.
