Vittorio Emaneuele II’ Civic Gallery
Vittorio Veneto (TV)

The ‘Vittorio Emanuele II’ Civic Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art, inaugurated in 2002, is located in Villa Croze, an elegant residential building built by Engineer Ottavio Croze in the early 20th century.
The Civic Gallery houses the ‘Maria Fioretti Paludetti’ collection, collected and then donated to her hometown by Giovanni Paludetti, a man of great culture who devoted his entire life to this collection.
Created to satisfy his personal passion and then gradually increased with the intention, once the decision to make it public had matured, of providing future visitors with a path through the entire history of Italian art. The original nucleus of the collection consisted of works by early 20th century Veneto artists, but was expanded over the years by Giovanni Paludetti to include examples from previous centuries so as to cover the time span from the 14th to the 20th century.
This resulted in an extensive and varied collection of paintings, prints, drawings, sculptures and furniture.
The collection reflects the taste, culture and personal experience of Prof. Paludetti, who intended it almost as an opportunity for spiritual as well as cultural elevation. The Galleria Civica also hosts temporary exhibitions of local artists at certain times of the year.
