Great Rivers Museum
Rovigo

Millennia of history are preserved inside the Great Rivers Museum, a fascinating place where time seems to stand still. The highly evocative location is an exceptional example of a former Olivetan monastery complex, whose original layout dates back to the 13th century.
The tour winds its way inside what were once the monastic spaces, through a truly original layout, curated by Gabbris Ferrari, a set designer and artist from Rovigo.
The exhibits alternate with reconstructions created by the skilful hands of experimental archaeology, dioramas, multimedia installations, and plastic models, accompanying visitors in their discovery of the archaeological, ethnographic, and cultural peculiarities of the Polesine territory over a chronological span of more than 3,500 years, from the Bronze Age to the Iron Age, from the Roman Age to the Middle Ages, and the Renaissance. A journey for all ages, through history, art and archaeology.
